TouchPoint is a prominent part of Compass Healthcare, dedicated to delivering exceptional hospitality services within Ascension Health hospitals across the United States. Our mission centers around serving patients, families, and visitors by providing high-quality food services and support that enhance the overall healthcare experience. Located at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Wichita, Kansas, TouchPoint exemplifies the essence of care, quality, and excellence in a high-volume, patient-focused environment. With a strong commitment to the health and well-being of the community, TouchPoint operates within the larger Compass Group umbrella, a leader in the foodservice industry known for its innovation and dedication to employee growth and patient satisfaction.
We are currently seeking full-time Prep Cooks to join our team at the Saint Joseph's Hospital location. This role is essential to the culinary operations, involving the preparation and serving of food according to strict standards and regulatory guidelines. Prep Cooks at TouchPoint thrive in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and adherence to health and safety protocols are paramount. With a pay range of $16.00 to $17.00 per hour and a variable schedule, this position is well-suited for individuals with at least one year of cooking experience in a high-volume setting. The Prep Cook role not only demands culinary skill but also a heart for service, as team members directly impact patient care by ensuring high-quality meals are consistently prepared and served on time.
As a Prep Cook at TouchPoint, you will be working under the guidance of the Chef, following detailed production schedules and recipes to maintain the quality and safety of all meals served. Your responsibilities include properly storing, labeling, and dating food items, operating and cleaning kitchen equipment, complying with health and sanitation requirements, and maintaining accurate documentation such as production worksheets and waste log sheets. The role requires a proactive approach to resolving customer concerns and contributing positively to a team environment focused on excellence. Being a part of TouchPoint means engaging in a workplace culture that values empowerment, belonging, and fun while supporting the vital mission of improving the health of vulnerable populations.
Beyond the impactful work environment, TouchPoint offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes options for medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, and wellness programs. Associates enjoy benefits such as retirement plans, shopping programs, identity theft protection, pet insurance, and voluntary insurance options like critical illness and accident coverage. The company also provides commuter benefits, flexible spending accounts, and employee assistance programs. Additionally, paid and unpaid time off benefits are available in accordance with federal and state regulations, ensuring a supportive work-life balance.
Embracing a philosophy of equal opportunity, Compass Group actively promotes diversity and inclusion throughout its workforce. Candidates who meet the qualifications and can perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations are encouraged to apply. TouchPoint maintains a drug-free workplace and upholds stringent standards to foster a safe and healthy working environment. If you are passionate about serving others and eager to contribute to a team that makes a difference in the healthcare hospitality industry, consider joining TouchPoint as a Prep Cook and be part of a company that truly cares.
