Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent education
- culinary or equivalent training preferred
- minimum one year food service experience in health care dietary setting preferred
- knowledge of quantity food preparation, portioning, and services
- completion of Serv Safe certification within first year
- ability to follow food safety and sanitation procedures
- ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment
- ability to adhere to federal, state, and community regulations
- willingness to participate in staff meetings and educational programs
- understanding of fire and disaster plans
- commitment to infection control practices
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent education
- preference given to persons with culinary or equivalent training and understanding of therapeutic diets
- minimum one year food service experience in a health care dietary setting desired
- general knowledge of quantity food preparation, portioning, and services
- Serv Safe certification must be completed in the first year of employment
Job Duties
- Coordinate food preparation and meal service, including nutritional snacks
- monitor temperature of hot and cold foods through food preparation and service to ensure temperature goals are met and maintained
- plan and initiate cooking schedule for food preparation to meet meal schedules
- follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures and maintain a clean and safe environment
- assist with inventory
- assist in receiving and storing food and supplies
- clean equipment and work areas as assigned
- be knowledgeable of federal, state, and community's rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
- follow defined safety codes while performing all duties
- follow defined infection control procedures
- attend scheduled department staff meetings
- attend in-service educational programs as assigned
- understand community's fire and disaster plans and follow procedures during drills and emergencies
