The company is currently seeking a motivated Prep Cook to join the team at Skylinks Golf Club, located at 4800 East Wardlow Road in Long Beach, California. This role is essential in supporting the kitchen's daily operations by preparing ingredients, ensuring all workstations are well organized, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety. The Prep Cook helps set the foundation for the culinary team’s success by preparing key components such as sauces, stocks, and dressings, and by assisting with both everyday and special event catering needs. This position requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous kitchen or food prep experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to follow food safety guidelines
  • Ability to use kitchen equipment safely
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Job Qualifications

  • Previous kitchen or food prep experience preferred but not required
  • Basic knife skills and willingness to learn culinary techniques
  • Understanding of food safety practices or ability to obtain certification
  • Ability to follow recipes and written prep lists

Job Duties

  • Wash, chop, slice, portion, and prepare ingredients according to recipes and prep lists
  • Label, date, rotate, and store food following food safety standards
  • Assist cooks with station setup and breakdown
  • Prepare sauces, stocks, dressings, and batch recipes as directed
  • Maintain cleanliness of prep areas, coolers, and storage spaces
  • Follow sanitation and health department guidelines
  • Assist with receiving deliveries and verifying product quality
