Job Description

Carver Road Hospitality is an esteemed hospitality company known for its innovative dining concepts and commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. Introduced in Winter 2021, their flagship concept at Resorts World Las Vegas exemplifies the perfect blend of mid-century modern nostalgia with contemporary design, technology, and culinary techniques. This exclusive 14,500 square foot steakhouse features an expansive bar and lounge area, a plush main dining room, and a sweeping terrace with an outdoor bar, dining, and lounge gardens overlooking the iconic Las Vegas Strip. Inside, guests experience a dramatic ambiance enhanced by a comprehensive digital art program and a state-of-the-art lighting and sound system that evolves throughout the night.

Carversteak, the primary restaurant of Carver Road Hospitality, offers a menu that includes dry-aged American steaks sourced from artisan beef producers and Japanese-certified Wagyu steaks. Complementing these are classic steakhouse staples infused with seasonal ingredients and innovative presentations, as well as a variety of vegan options to cater to diverse dietary preferences. On the beverage front, the restaurant boasts an extensive wine list, a curated whiskey collection, and a unique Avant-Garden cocktail experience featuring herbs grown in an onsite garden, crafted by renowned mixologist Francesco Lafranconi. Several private event spaces, including two dedicated private dining rooms and a large outdoor garden, allow the venue to cater to exclusive events and gatherings.

The Prep Cook role at Carver Road Hospitality is an integral part of the culinary team, crucial for the smooth operation and success of the restaurant. This position involves essential food preparation duties such as knife work, hot cooking, and assisting with simple pastry recipes. The Prep Cook will collaborate closely with other kitchen team members and supervisors while maintaining a respectful and professional demeanor.

The ideal candidate for this role should enjoy cooking and thrive in a like-minded team environment, possessing the ability to work independently while maintaining a strong sense of urgency throughout the day. Organizational skills, cleanliness, and efficiency are critical for success in this role. Integrity and a continuous improvement mindset are valued qualities, alongside a willingness to learn and support fellow team members. Being a Certified Food Handler is a requirement, and the prep cook is expected to maintain a professional appearance in line with the employee handbook.

Responsibilities include handling all food items meticulously by washing, chopping, and cutting according to precise recipe specifications. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the assigned station, the kitchen, and the entire venue in adherence to Health Department regulations is paramount. The prep cook must label and store all products following FIFO (First In First Out) and company standards, check production lists and assignments, and demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of assigned recipes to produce items to company standards. Effective communication with chefs, sous chefs, and support staff regarding product needs is essential. Opening and closing procedures, including proper setup of prep stations, fall under the prep cook's duties. Immediate reporting of any equipment breakage or damage to management, attendance at daily pre-service meetings, and maintaining a positive and professional attitude round out the expectations for this role.

Physical requirements for the position include the ability to stand, lift, and bend for extended periods, with lifting requirements up to 50 pounds. The role may involve repetitive motion tasks and exposure to hot kitchen elements or cleaning materials. Flexibility in scheduling is important, as shifts may vary, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

As a valued team member at Carver Road Hospitality, prep cooks will enjoy competitive pay along with health, dental, and vision insurance benefits. Carver Road Hospitality promotes diversity and inclusion and is an equal opportunity employer. The company reserves the right to modify the job description and reassign duties as necessary, underscoring its commitment to operational excellence and employee growth.
