Job Duties
- Prepares and cooks to order foods requiring short preparation time
- reads food order or receives verbal instructions on food required by patron and prepares and cooks food according to instructions
- replenish the serving line
- performs fast food cooking and grill cooking duties
- provides the highest quality of service to customers
- follows basic recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other foodstuffs
- operates kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut and shred fruits and vegetables, trim and cut meat, poultry or fish
- tastes products, reads menus, estimates food requirements, checks production and keeps records
- selects recipes per menu cycle, prepares bakery items, receives inventory, moves and lifts foodstuffs and supplies, prepares special diet meals
- cleans and sanitizes workstations and equipment
- sets steam tables and ensures proper serving of food
- practices clean as you go
- performs progressive cooking
