Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of kitchen preparation and cooking in a casual dining restaurant is a plus but not required
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Ability to acquire a valid Texas Food Handler Card within 30 days of hiring
  • Ability to inspire people to embrace different cultures of the world

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively with management, guests, and hourly staff
  • Knife skills and knowledge of food safety and regulations, and food temperature is a must
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Refer to the daily prep list at the start of each shift for assigned duties
  • Understand and comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures
  • Clean and sanitize workstation area including tables, shelves, walls, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range, and refrigeration equipment
  • Prepare a variety of foods, such as meats, vegetables, or desserts, according to customers' orders or supervisors' instructions, following approved procedures in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and a variety of other kitchen equipment
  • Use the standard recipe card for preparing all products
  • weigh or measure ingredients
  • Portion according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications and wrap the food or place it directly on plates for service to guests
