Job Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of kitchen preparation and cooking in a casual dining restaurant is a plus but not required
- At least 18 years of age
- Ability to acquire a valid Texas Food Handler Card within 30 days of hiring
- Ability to inspire people to embrace different cultures of the world
Job Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, guests, and hourly staff
- Knife skills and knowledge of food safety and regulations, and food temperature is a must
- Be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- Promote the culture, values, and mission of Restaurant K
Job Duties
- Refer to the daily prep list at the start of each shift for assigned duties
- Understand and comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures
- Clean and sanitize workstation area including tables, shelves, walls, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range, and refrigeration equipment
- Prepare a variety of foods, such as meats, vegetables, or desserts, according to customers' orders or supervisors' instructions, following approved procedures in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and a variety of other kitchen equipment
- Use the standard recipe card for preparing all products
- weigh or measure ingredients
- Portion according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications and wrap the food or place it directly on plates for service to guests
