The Prepared Foods Team Member role at Whole Foods Market centers around the preparation, stocking, and service of high-quality prepared food products, ensuring that all items meet the company’s rigorous standards for quality, safety, and presentation. In this position, team members are responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization within their departments, following standardized recipes and production processes, and delivering outstanding customer service. This includes assisting customers with product information, managing inventory and waste, and adhering to health and sanitation regulations. This position requires hands-on work including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing or walking for extended periods, and working in various environmental conditions such as wet, dry, and temperature-controlled areas. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • able to stand or walk 6 to 8 hours in an 8-hour shift
  • able to use single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling hand motions
  • capable of bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
  • able to work with FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • able to tolerate temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • able to work in wet and dry conditions
  • flexible to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • able to use knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and heavy machinery
  • may require use of ladders

Job Duties

  • Assist with production for all prepared foods venues
  • ensure all prepared foods are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated
  • ensure product meets quality and preparation guidelines
  • document waste and spoilage using appropriate forms
  • ensure production uses correct measuring devices and follows recipes
  • help customers understand the difference between Whole Foods Market products and conventional store products
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of walk-ins and freezers
  • report to work on time, groomed, dressed, and ready
  • provide excellent customer service and model suggestive selling
  • maximize sales potential through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising
  • comply with Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
  • maintain a clean and sanitary work and shopping environment
  • perform opening, mid, and closing duties including accuracy of signs and pricing
  • immediately report safety hazards and violations
