Job Description
Piccadilly Foods is a well-established culinary company operating a busy cafe and commissary kitchen located in South Pasadena. Known for its commitment to quality and flavor, Piccadilly Foods serves multiple stores with a high volume of fresh, carefully prepared food items. The commissary kitchen supports a variety of menu items including chicken, bacon, short ribs, roast beef, soups, chili, sauces, dressings, deli salads, shawarma, and falafel, highlighting a diverse and extensive culinary offering. This fast-paced environment emphasizes precision, organization, and teamwork as core values to maintain the quality and efficiency expected by customers. The company fosters a professional kitchen atmosphere, where cleanliness and skill are paramount to success.
The role of a Prep Cook at Piccadilly Foods is essential in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and consistent food preparation standards. This full-time position is split across two shifts, Prep Cook A covers Sunday through Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. with Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays off, while Prep Cook B takes the shift from Wednesday to Saturday, also working 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and having Sunday through Tuesday off. These positions demand an individual with strong knife skills, excellent organizational capabilities, and a team-oriented mindset. Candidates must also exhibit self-direction and a proactive approach to their responsibilities in the kitchen. With over two years of prior kitchen experience required, this role is tailored for those who thrive in a busy, volume-driven environment and who take pride in their culinary craft. The company provides all recipes and a prep schedule, allowing for a structured yet dynamic work setting. This role not only requires technical abilities but also interpersonal skills, as collaboration with other kitchen staff is crucial for the smooth execution of daily tasks. If you are passionate about food preparation and want to contribute to a vibrant kitchen team, Piccadilly Foods offers an excellent opportunity to grow your culinary skills and be part of a dedicated food service company.
