Job Requirements

  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and carry short distances
  • able to stand and walk during 8 hour shifts
  • able to work closely with other staff at a fast pace, under pressure, maintaining quality standards and often in confined areas
  • able to bend, stoop, and wipe
  • able to work at approximately 36-inch table/stove and reach in approximately 36 inches
  • understand hazards such as cuts, burns, slips, trips, and falls
  • able to complete additional tasks assigned by management
  • able to meet all standards for safe food handling

Job Qualifications

  • Able to read and understand English and have basic math and computer skills
  • strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • eagerness to learn and ability to learn quickly
  • professional attire and appearance in keeping with Hive Bakery & Cafe standards

Job Duties

  • Prepare ingredients according to recipes, procedures, and prep lists
  • wash, chop, measure, and organize ingredients to ensure smooth kitchen operations
  • label and date all prepped items and ensure freshness
  • maintain assigned par levels of prepped ingredients
  • support the line cooks and bakers by ensuring all prep is ready for service and production
  • maintain, stock, restock, clean, and organize prep station and storage areas
  • complete opening, side, and closing duties in a timely manner following established standard operating procedures
