Job Requirements
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and carry short distances
- able to stand and walk during 8 hour shifts
- able to work closely with other staff at a fast pace, under pressure, maintaining quality standards and often in confined areas
- able to bend, stoop, and wipe
- able to work at approximately 36-inch table/stove and reach in approximately 36 inches
- understand hazards such as cuts, burns, slips, trips, and falls
- able to complete additional tasks assigned by management
- able to meet all standards for safe food handling
Job Qualifications
- Able to read and understand English and have basic math and computer skills
- strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- eagerness to learn and ability to learn quickly
- professional attire and appearance in keeping with Hive Bakery & Cafe standards
Job Duties
- Prepare ingredients according to recipes, procedures, and prep lists
- wash, chop, measure, and organize ingredients to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- label and date all prepped items and ensure freshness
- maintain assigned par levels of prepped ingredients
- support the line cooks and bakers by ensuring all prep is ready for service and production
- maintain, stock, restock, clean, and organize prep station and storage areas
- complete opening, side, and closing duties in a timely manner following established standard operating procedures
