The Banquet Prep Cook position at Radisson Blu Fargo is a vital role within the culinary department responsible for supporting the preparation and execution of banquet and event menu items. This role involves close collaboration with the Banquet Manager and kitchen staff to ensure that every meal served at events meets the hotel’s high standards for taste, consistency, and presentation. Working in a fast-paced environment, the Banquet Prep Cook is expected to assist with ingredient preparation such as washing, chopping, marinating, and portioning, as well as supporting the setup and breakdown of banquet food stations.
This position requires someone who is highly detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working efficiently under pressure without compromising quality. Communication skills are essential as the cook will be liaising with the banquet chef, manager, and culinary team to ensure seamless service during events. The role is not only about food preparation but also involves maintaining the cleanliness and operational readiness of the workstation, tools, equipment, and storage areas including walk-in coolers and freezers. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred
- basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- ability to follow recipes and portion controls accurately
- strong organizational skills
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- excellent communication and teamwork skills
- physical ability to stand or walk for extended periods
- must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
Job Qualifications
- Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred especially in high-volume or banquet settings
- basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices

Job Duties
- Assist in the preparation and execution of menu items for banquets, meetings, and special events
- follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards to ensure consistency and quality
- prepare ingredients including washing, chopping, marinating, and portioning
- exercise food safety and kitchen sanitation practices to deliver a quality product
- maintain cleanliness and working order of work area, tools, equipment, and supplies
- keep walk-in cooler/freezer organized
- support setup and breakdown of banquet food stations as needed
- communicate with banquet chef, banquet manager, and culinary team to ensure timely service
