The role encompasses performing all functions related to the preparation and merchandising of produce items, ensuring that all products meet Whole Foods Market's high standards for quality, safety, and presentation. This includes tasks such as cutting fruits and vegetables safely, maintaining sampling programs, and ensuring cleanliness in the department according to health and food safety regulations. The Team Member must provide excellent customer service by addressing customer needs promptly and effectively, demonstrating suggestive selling techniques, and maintaining positive interactions with customers and colleagues. Additional responsibilities include maximizing sales potential through proper product handling—prepping, storing, rotating, and merchandising—while adhering strictly to procedures like health and sanitation policies, weights and measures, and safe work practices. This position requires punctuality, adherence to grooming standards, and active participation in required trainings and meetings. Team Members are expected to foster a teamwork environment, support company values and initiatives at regional and national levels, and take on any other duties assigned by leadership.

Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- standing and walking for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour day
- hand use including grasping, manipulation, pushing and pulling
- motions including bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
- exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- exposure to temperatures below freezing, refrigeration, and above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- ability to work in wet and dry conditions
- ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and heavy machinery

Job Duties
- Cuts fruits and vegetables following safety and sanitation rules

- cleans department continuously and maintains sweep logs
- arrives on time, appropriately groomed and dressed, works all scheduled shifts and attends trainings and meetings
- provides excellent customer service, addresses customer needs in a timely manner and models suggestive selling techniques
- maximizes sales potential through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising
- follows and ensures compliance with procedures including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices

- performs opening, mid, and closing duties and ensures accuracy of signs and pricing
- immediately reports safety hazards and violations
