The Cook at TGI Friday's Hollywood plays a vital role in preparing a wide variety of foods in accordance with specific recipe requirements, product sensitivities, and presentation standards. Reporting directly to the Kitchen Manager, the Cook ensures that every dish served meets the brand's standard of excellence. This position demands attention to detail in following recipes, consistent execution of cooking techniques, and adherence to food safety and sanitation protocols. The Cook must be able to manage multiple tasks efficiently, collaborate as part of a team, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about culinary arts, customer satisfaction, and delivering high-quality food under the dynamic and fast-paced environment of a busy restaurant.

The responsibilities of the Cook include various food preparation tasks such as washing, chopping, sorting ingredients, measuring seasonings, parboiling foods, and starting initial cooking steps. Additionally, the Cook supports kitchen hygiene by cleaning utensils, cookware, and workstations, taking out trash, and sanitizing to meet stringent health standards. Inventory management and timely communication with kitchen staff and managers about product stocks and service flow are also key components of the role. Success in this position contributes directly to guest satisfaction scores, food quality, kitchen cleanliness, and operational efficiency.

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Completing all tasks on the prep list from the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager
  • Labeling and stocking all ingredients on shelves
  • Washing, chopping and sorting ingredients like fruits, vegetables and meats
  • Measuring quantities of seasonings and other cooking ingredients
  • Parboiling food, reducing sauces and starting first steps in dishes
  • Cleaning dishes, washing cooking utensils and cookware, taking out trash and sanitizing kitchen
  • Adhering to nutrition and sanitary regulations and standards
  • Keeping track of ingredient inventory and collaborating with kitchen and management staff to order resupply
  • Ensuring all prepared food meets TGI Friday's standards, recipe requirements, product sensitivity and presentation guidelines
  • Communicating ticket times and potential problems with service staff, kitchen staff and Managers
  • Setting up and breaking down prep stations
  • Operating and maintaining kitchen equipment properly
  • Proper rotation and labeling of all products
