The position available is for a hospitality-focused Prep Cook within the Community Culinary Services Department. This role is essential in delivering high-quality meal preparation and ensuring food safety and cleanliness standards are consistently met. The Prep Cook will have regular working hours from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and every other weekend, earning a competitive wage of $18 per hour. As a Prep Cook, you will prepare ingredients, assist in various meal services including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events, and maintain the kitchen's sanitation and organizational standards. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum six (6) months high-volume food prep experience
  • Certificate in food service sanitation within 90 days of hire
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance
  • Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling
  • Skill in knife handling techniques
  • Flu vaccination required

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • A minimum of six (6) months of high-volume food prep experience in a hotel, restaurant, club, or similar institution
  • Certificate in food service sanitation (ServSafe or equivalent) required within 90 days of hire date
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance
  • Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures
  • Skill in proper knife handling techniques
  • Flu vaccination required

Job Duties

  • Sets up station according to daily production needs
  • Prepares the ingredients for meals including chopping fruits and vegetables, preparing meats, and measuring items
  • Assists in preparing food products as scheduled in the cycle menu to include breakfast, lunch, and dinner service and any catering or other special functions
  • Follows proper handling, preparation, and holding guidelines, takes temperatures at regular intervals, and maintains foods in sufficient quantities while minimizing over-production and waste
  • Follows kitchen sanitation and equipment cleaning schedule
