Job Description
Our establishment is a busy and well-regarded kitchen focused on delivering high-quality food products to our customers. We specialize in a broad range of culinary offerings including meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, sauces, stocks, breads, and other food items. Our kitchen operates with a commitment to culinary excellence and strict adherence to standard procedures to ensure every dish meets our quality standards. The working environment is fast-paced, requiring a dedicated and efficient team to manage daily food preparation and maintain kitchen cleanliness and safety. Our team is led by a Kitchen Manager who oversees operations and ensures that all kitchen activities align with the company’s guidelines and expectations.
We are currently seeking a Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team. This role entails cooking and preparing a variety of food products using different kitchen equipment such as broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and other utensils as per the Daily Prep List. The Cook will be responsible for completing opening and closing checklists to support smooth kitchen operations. Attention to detail is essential, as the Cook must consistently follow standard portion sizes, cooking methods, and quality standards. Food preparation is subject to standardized recipes, and reliance on memory is discouraged to maintain consistency and quality across all services. Maintaining a clean and sanitary work station and kitchen equipment is a critical part of the responsibility, ensuring all health and safety standards are met. The Cook will work closely with the Kitchen Manager and other kitchen personnel to promptly report any equipment or food quality issues and immediately notify product shortages.
Additionally, the Cook is expected to attend all scheduled employee meetings and actively contribute suggestions for kitchen improvement. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 40 pounds, to stand for extended periods (up to 5 hours), and to engage in frequent movements such as reaching, bending, and stooping. Prior experience in kitchen preparation and cooking is necessary to succeed in this role, with at least one year of kitchen experience and six months in a similar position. Effective communication skills are essential to collaborate efficiently with managers and team members.
This is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary arts and looking to grow their experience in a professional kitchen setting. Our kitchen fosters a supportive team environment where each member's contribution is valued, and professional development is encouraged. If you are motivated, detail-oriented, and ready to contribute to a high-standard culinary operation, we invite you to apply and join our team.
