Team members are required to provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and fellow employees while adhering to store policies and Standard Operating Procedures. The position demands active engagement on the sales floor, where team members interact with customers, help educate them about Whole Foods Market’s unique product offerings, and support sales through suggestive selling techniques. Preparing items according to recipes, maintaining cleanliness and organization of service areas, and following health and safety standards are critical components of this role. This position offers a wage range of $15.00 to $24.40 hourly, commensurate with experience, and includes eligibility for a comprehensive benefits package called "Whole Benefits." Job Requirements

  • must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • standing or walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day
  • hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • work requires bending, twisting, squatting and reaching
  • exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • exposure to temperatures less than 32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), and greater than 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
  • may require use of ladders
  • no prior retail experience required

Job Duties

  • assists with production for all prepared foods venues
  • ensures all prepared foods are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated
  • ensures product meets whole foods market guidelines for quality and preparation
  • documents waste and spoilage using appropriate forms
  • ensures product production is performed using correct measuring devices and all recipes are followed
  • helps customers understand the difference between whole foods market products and products at conventional stores
  • ensures that walk-ins and freezers are kept clean and well-organized
