The prep cook position is an essential role within our kitchen brigade, responsible for handling the majority of the preparation work required for all ingredients going into dishes during service. The quality of prep work directly impacts the quality of the final dishes, making precision and care fundamental in fulfilling this position. Responsibilities include preparing vegetables by washing and chopping, cutting meats, labeling and stocking ingredients, measuring and seasoning elements, and performing basic kitchen tasks such as reducing sauces and parboiling ingredients. The prep cook will also occasionally prepare simple dishes such as soups and salads while ensuring that the kitchen remains clean, organized, and adheres to all nutrition and sanitation guidelines.
