The role of Prep Cook at California Pizza Kitchen is an entry-level position that plays a key role in delivering the brand's promise of epic service and exceptional food quality. Prep Cooks are responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food quality and sanitation by following recipes, procedures, specifications, and techniques established by CPK. This role involves assisting in the receiving of goods, maintaining daily inventory of prepared foods, and ensuring proper storage and rotation of products to minimize waste and maintain freshness.

Prep Cooks are also critical in maintaining a safe and sanitary kitchen environment. They practice and teach safe handling of cutting boards, countertops, knives, and other equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Additionally, they monitor and maintain proper equipment temperatures, perform station opening and closing duties, and complete side work assignments each shift. This role requires attention to detail, a passion for food, and a commitment to teamwork, as Prep Cooks support the kitchen staff in delivering a consistent and high-quality dining experience to guests.
