Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 0 to 6 months of food preparation experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Serv-safe certification preferred but not required
  • Food safety awareness
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Willingness to work flexible hours
  • Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards
  • Basic English proficiency for understanding instructions and communication

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food safety awareness
  • Prior food prep experience helpful
  • Culinary awards or accreditation beneficial
  • Culinary degree advantageous
  • Serv-safe certification a plus
  • Ability to follow recipe cards and safety protocols
  • Basic knife skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Job Duties

  • Actively support a culture of safety including food safety, team member safety and customer safety
  • Conduct business with a clear understanding that customer service is a significant point of difference for the company
  • Actively participate in and promote an environment that embraces diversity, inclusion and respect for team members, customers, vendors and the community
  • Complete opening and closing checklists
  • Receive food ingredients and supplies from main kitchen and pantry as required for daily operations
  • Review production schedule to determine food requirements and assemble supplies and equipment needed for daily cooking activities
  • Use standard recipe card for preparing all products
  • Slice, grind and cook meats and vegetables using a range of cooking methods
  • Test foods being cooked for quality
  • Carve and display meats, vegetables, fruits and salads, replenish service lines as necessary
  • Prepare food products for cook's production
  • Complete production sheets and other records as required
  • Maintain clean work area, utensils and equipment
  • Accommodate individual customer requests regarding special dietary needs
  • Attend to day-to-day problems about equipment and food supplies, detect and ensure disposition of spoiled or defective food and supplies
  • Perform additional responsibilities as directed by management
