The role of Prep Cook at Grand Living is vital in enhancing the overall resident experience by ensuring high standards of food production and quality control. This position involves the preparation of various food items such as meats, vegetables, potatoes, bread products, and desserts with precision and care. Working under the general guidance of the Executive Chef, the Prep Cook is expected to uphold community standards, processes, and culinary philosophies while modeling The Sterling Touch4 professional behaviors. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • culinary arts or culinary apprenticeship preferred
  • one or more years experience cooking in a fast paced, cook to order kitchen preferred
  • one or more years experience with scratch cooking preferred
  • sauté and/or broiler experience preferred
  • ability to read, write and understand the English language
  • sufficient manual dexterity of hands and arms
  • ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull and work continuously without sitting
  • ability to lift or carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
  • ability to perform all essential functions within varying temperature ranges
