Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in food preparation or kitchen work preferred
  • knowledge of basic cooking and food handling
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • strong attention to detail
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • physical stamina to handle kitchen demands

Job Qualifications

  • No formal culinary education required but a desire to learn
  • prior experience in a kitchen environment preferred
  • ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently
  • good communication and teamwork skills
  • basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation
  • physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual kitchen tasks

Job Duties

  • Follow the prep list created by chefs to plan duties
  • label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
  • prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc
  • undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc
  • prepare simple dishes
  • maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc
  • ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
  • perform other kitchen duties as assigned
