The role of Waiter onboard is integral to the overall guest experience. You will collaborate closely with your colleagues in the culinary department to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality dishes. Maintaining adherence to strict food preparation standards and recipes is essential to creating unforgettable dining moments for guests. The position requires excellent organizational skills for managing kitchen production flow efficiently, as well as flexibility to adapt to frequent menu changes while maintaining peak operational performance. You will participate in rigorous food safety and sanitation protocols to guarantee the highest standards are met, ensuring a safe and hygienic kitchen environment at all times.

Inventory management is another critical duty in this role, including the ordering and reconciliation of food items to prevent shortages or waste. You will be expected to demonstrate a deep knowledge of diverse cooking techniques such as roasting, broiling, sautéing, frying, grilling, pastry baking, sauce creation, and cold food preparation. Ability to upscale recipes from small servings to large-scale catering for hundreds of guests is highly valued, emphasizing both taste and artistic presentation of every plate.

Job Requirements

  • Hold a culinary school degree or equivalent training
  • possess a minimum of one year of experience working in a high volume kitchen on a cruise ship, at a hotel, or in a fast paced restaurant environment
  • possess a strong command of the English language, both verbal and written
  • demonstrate ability to upscale recipes for large groups
  • maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation
  • exhibit flexibility to accommodate additional culinary needs
  • work full-time with willingness to live aboard the ship

Job Qualifications

  • Possess a strong command of the English language, both in verbal and written forms, ensuring effective communication across a diverse team
  • showcasing a range of cooking techniques, including roasting, broiling, sautéing, frying, grilling, pastry baking, sauce creation, and cold food preparation
  • your ability to upscale a recipe from serving 8 to catering for 64, 128, or 256 guests
  • every plate is a canvas of your work
  • perfection in presentation and taste is a must
  • hold a culinary school degree or equivalent training in the art of the culinary craft
  • possess a minimum of one year of experience working in a high volume kitchen on a cruise ship, at a hotel, or in a fast paced restaurant environment
