A Prep Cook at Legends follows the direction of the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Supervisors to handle food preparation and kitchen procedures with precision. Responsibilities include ensuring food items meet portion size and quality standards, maintaining proper food temperatures, and upholding exceptional cleanliness throughout the kitchen. This position demands adherence to safety regulations and company uniform policies to promote a professional and safe workplace. The Prep Cook also assists with the upkeep of kitchen equipment and dining utensils, preventing damage and ensuring sanitary conditions at all times.
Throughout the workday, the Prep Cook acts as a key contributor to the culinary team, supporting seamless operations across all stages of food preparation and presentation. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must have one year working in a fast-paced high-end club or restaurant
- Ability to lift and transport items weighing up to 30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds
- Must have sufficient mobility for production tasks including reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling
- Ability to read, speak and write in English
- Practice safe work habits and comply with safety policies, procedures and regulations
Job Qualifications
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age
- Professional training through culinary education or experience in a fast-paced high-volume fine dining restaurant or catering facility preferred
- Ability to interact with co-workers to assure compliance with company service standards
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, team orientated setting
- Ability to read, speak and write in English
- Ability to lift and transport food and other items weighing up to 30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds
- Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Sufficient mobility to perform assigned production tasks including constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods
- Minimum one year experience in a fast-paced high-end club or restaurant
Job Duties
- Follow Executive Chef, Sous Chef or Kitchen Supervisors assignments for opening and closing procedures and food preparation
- Prepare food items by complying with portion size, quality standards, departmental rules, policies and procedures
- Ensure that proper food temperatures are maintained
- Responsible for safety standards, neatness and sanitation of work areas
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen including shelves, walls, floors and drains
- Participate as a team player with specific responsibilities related to preparation, excellent service and delivery of product
- Maintain proper sanitation for all dining and cooking utensils and cookware
