We are currently seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Prep Cooks. This role is integral to Metro Diner's kitchen operations and overall success. Prep Cooks are responsible for preparing all food products strictly according to Metro Diner’s recipes. This involves utilizing a variety of kitchen processes, equipment, and utensils to ensure consistency and quality in every dish served. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a prep cook preferred
  • Ability to follow detailed recipes and kitchen procedures
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen duties
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a prep cook in a fast-paced work environment
  • Knowledge of proper food preparation techniques and kitchen safety standards
  • Familiarity with recipe adherence and portion control
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen

Job Duties

  • Prep all food products according to Metro Diner recipes using a variety of processes, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work area
  • Organize and clean refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage
  • Properly seal, label, and date items
  • Follow portion sizes, cooking methods, and quality standards
  • Report equipment and food quality problems promptly
  • Monitor inventory levels and inform Kitchen Manager of product shortages
