Job Duties
- Prepares and cooks food requiring longer preparation time
- Ensures daily prep tasks are completed prior to service
- Follows recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving various food items
- Operates kitchen equipment to measure, mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut, shred fruits and vegetables, and trim meat
- Tastes products, checks production, and keeps records to plan production requirements and requisition supplies
- Cleans and sanitizes workstations and equipment following company and regulatory rules
- Uses proper measurements as stated in recipes
- Retrieves items required for prep from storage and walk-in cooler
- Follows proper protocol for cooling prepped items and preventing cross-contamination
- Maintains a clean work station using 'clean as you go' mentality
- Uses proper PPE such as cut gloves
- Assists with cleaning dishes, utensils, and food containers as needed
