Logans Roadhouse is currently seeking a dedicated Prep Cook to join their kitchen team. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly by completing essential food preparation tasks under the guidance of the Chef or Manager. The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients and food items needed by different kitchen stations, adhering strictly to recipes to maintain product consistency and quality. This role requires a keen attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Prep Cook is also involved in cleaning their work area and keeping the kitchen well-stocked with necessary supplies. Alongside preparing food items such as vegetables, meats, and desserts, the Prep Cook must abide by all company and regulatory guidelines for food safety, proper equipment use, and sanitation practices.

In addition to food preparation, the Prep Cook ensures compliance with protocols designed to prevent cross-contamination and food spoilage, including proper cooling measures and use of personal protective equipment like cut gloves. This role demands manual dexterity, sensory abilities such as sharp vision and hearing, and physical fitness to perform tasks like lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. The position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year of cooking experience, and successful completion of company-required training modules. Job Duties

  • Prepares and cooks food requiring longer preparation time
  • Ensures that the daily prep tasks are completed prior to service
  • Follows basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other foodstuffs for consumption
  • Prepares items as dictated by prep sheet needs
  • Prepares food by operating a variety of kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, washing, peeling, cutting and shredding fruits and vegetables, and trimming and cutting meat
  • Tastes products, checks production, and keeps records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment
  • Cleans and sanitizes workstations and equipment following company and regulatory rules and procedures
