Levy is a renowned leader in the sports and entertainment hospitality industry, recognized for its innovative approach and outstanding service quality. With a rich history of managing hospitality experiences at some of the world’s most iconic venues and events, Levy continues to set the standard for culinary excellence and guest satisfaction. The company’s diverse portfolio includes award-winning restaurants, prominent sports arenas, cultural institutions, theaters, convention centers, and high-profile events such as the Super Bowl, Grammy Awards, US Open Tennis Tournament, Kentucky Derby, and major league All-Star games across NHL, MLB, NBA, NFL, and MLS. Levy's commitment to equal opportunity and inclusive work environment fosters continuous learning, growth, and the authentic expression of individuality among its team members. It has been recognized repeatedly for its innovation, diversity, and workplace culture, positioning it as a leading employer within the hospitality sector.
The role of the Senior Sous Chef - Premium at Levy, based at the MODA Center (home of the NBA’s Portland Trailblazers and WNBA’s Portland Fire), offers a dynamic opportunity for culinary professionals dedicated to delivering a premier dining experience. This position commands a salary range of $68,000 to $75,000 annually and operates under pay grade 12. The Senior Sous Chef plays a vital leadership role, working closely with the Executive Sous Chef to oversee and guide the culinary operations focused on premium services. These premium outlets include luxury suites, exclusive clubs, VIP catering, and special high-profile events hosted in a fast-paced, high-energy arena environment.
This role requires creativity, precision, and operational expertise in culinary arts to maintain Levy’s high standards of quality, consistency, and presentation. The Senior Sous Chef is responsible for menu innovation tailored to discerning clients, ensuring an elevated gastronomic experience centered on seasonality and current culinary trends. Beyond creativity, the role necessitates sharp attention to detail, managing inventory and food costs efficiently while maintaining premium products’ integrity. Supervisory responsibilities include training, mentoring, and inspiring culinary teams, imbuing them with a culture of craftsmanship, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Moreover, resilience and adaptability under pressure during high-volume service periods, typical of arena events, are crucial for success. Rigorous compliance with food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards underscores the commitment to best-in-class kitchen discipline. Collaboration with broader culinary and marketing teams allows the Senior Sous Chef to help develop new premium culinary programs and guest experiences. This position also actively contributes to client and guest satisfaction efforts, adapting service based on feedback to enhance the overall premium hospitality offering. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity perfect for culinary professionals passionate about luxury hospitality and dedicated to operational excellence in the live event hospitality sector.
