The Premium Bartender position at Northwestern University presents a remarkable opportunity for individuals passionate about mixology and delivering outstanding customer service. As a Premium Bartender, you will be responsible for setting up and stocking bar supplies, managing inventory, crafting beverages with precision, and maintaining a clean, organized, and visually appealing bar area. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous bartending experience preferred
  • Knowledge of state and federal liquor laws
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Availability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends

Job Duties

  • Adheres to state, federal and corporate liquor regulations
  • Sets up assigned bars and stocks all necessary supplies
  • Maintains stock and prepares fresh garnishes and juices
  • Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner
  • Takes orders, mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard recipes
  • Checks guests for proper identification
  • Detects and responds to guest inebriation appropriately
  • Handles cash transactions and ensures accurate recordkeeping
  • Secures beverage products, equipment and cash deposits
  • Performs cleaning tasks to maintain health and safety standards
  • Arranges bottles and glasses for attractive bar displays
  • Washes and sterilizes stemware
  • Performs other duties as assigned
