The role of Assembler at Benchmark involves installing and removing mechanical and electrical components in assemblies and sub-assemblies according to work instructions and visual aids. The position requires working in a team environment with other assemblers and support functions to produce high-quality products on schedule. This role focuses on quality assurance by performing validation and inspections of work, troubleshooting assembly failures, and ensuring the proper maintenance of tools and work area. Assemblers are expected to engage actively in continuous improvement initiatives including Lean activities and provide timely feedback to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste. Safety, security, and confidentiality of customer products are priorities, and compliance with company policies and regulations is mandatory. The role requires adaptability to changing priorities with an emphasis on effective communication skills and willingness to learn and master all product assembly tasks. This is a full-time, safety-sensitive position located in Mesa, AZ, scheduled for the second shift from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm Monday through Friday. The position is ideal for candidates holding a high school diploma or GED, with up to two years of experience in production assembly or related fields. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 0-2 years knowledge of production assembly
- ability to perform basic to moderate placement and testing activities
- mechanical and electrical aptitude including circuits and general tool use
- good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- understanding of electric static discharge (ESD), torque, strain mechanical properties, and fluid and pneumatic systems
- effective verbal and written communication skills
- ability to respond to written and verbal instructions
Job Duties
- Install and remove mechanical and electrical components in assemblies and sub-assemblies per work instructions and visual aids
- troubleshoot failed assemblies to determine corrective action
- use hand tools and custom fixtures in a team environment to produce high-quality products on time
- perform validation and inspection of own work and within immediate work area
- maintain adequate supplies and a neat and orderly work area
- maintain tools and equipment in proper working order
- maintain security and confidentiality of customer products and documentation
- participate in product testing
- provide timely feedback to upstream and downstream operations
- actively engage in Lean activities and continuous improvement efforts
- recommend corrective actions to reduce scrap and waste
- adhere to all safety and health rules
- comply with all company security policies and procedures
- work on problems of limited scope under supervision
- recommend methods for improving area efficiency and reducing waste
- build stable working relationships with peers and operators
- learn and master all tasks associated with product assembly
- identify assembly non-conformance and perform corrective actions
- handle changing priorities effectively
- communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
- follow written and verbal instructions
- work overtime as needed
- obtain and renew certifications on assigned equipment and cross-train in other areas
