Job Description

Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) is a renowned leader in primary care, serving a diverse patient population across the Boston metro-north region. With a dedication to community health and innovation, CHA provides comprehensive primary care services to over 120,000 patients through more than 300,000 annual visits. The organization operates 13 primary care centers, 3 teen health centers, telehealth services, and specialized programs that extend care directly into patient homes. As a healthcare institution, CHA emphasizes a team-based approach that integrates internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics, and women’s health. This collaborative environment integrates behavioral health, pharmacy, complex care, and multilingual interpreter services, supporting the holistic needs of its diverse communities. Additionally, CHA is a teaching hospital affiliated with prestigious residency programs such as Harvard Internal Medicine and Tufts Family Medicine, reinforcing its commitment to healthcare education and clinical excellence.

The role available within CHA’s Revere Primary Care Department is a full-time administrative position that operates within the union framework of SEIU 1199. The job entails a standard 40-hour workweek with varied shift start and end times and includes weekend and holiday responsibilities as assigned, which signifies the vital nature of continuous patient support and administrative service. This administrative support position is crucial in maintaining smooth office operations, serving as a frontline point of contact, and ensuring accurate patient management and billing processes. Employees in this role manage patient registration and appointment scheduling through the Epic electronic health record system, verify insurance eligibility via PASSPORT, and maintain both paper and digital medical documentation with precision and confidentiality.

Moreover, this position involves actively supporting financial processes including co-pay collection, payment reconciliation, and error correction related to patient billing and charges. The role also supports clinicians by handling paperwork and electronic communications efficiently, participating actively in planned care teams, and contributing to departmental meetings with a focus on improving patient care workflow. This administrative position is best suited for detail-oriented individuals with excellent customer service skills who can thrive within a dynamic and collaborative healthcare setting. Bilingual skills in Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole are highly preferred to better serve CHA’s multicultural patient base. This career opportunity at CHA offers a meaningful chance to contribute to a system that prioritizes equity, innovation, and community health impact, while also providing pathways for professional development in the healthcare industry.
