The role of Sewer Seamstress is a crucial position at CURTIS PPE Care located in Dublin, CA. This full-time role offers hourly pay ranging from $19 to $21 and entails hands-on sewing and repair work on various PPE elements. The Sewer Seamstress is responsible for repairing, altering, and enhancing PPE items by following and sometimes creating new patterns and specifications. The position requires a detail-oriented and results-driven individual who will contribute to producing finished goods such as letter patches, hose straps, shrouds, gear bags, and other essential items that support the effective use of PPE gear. The role is physically engaging, requiring the ability to handle heavy fabrics and hardware, with some items weighing up to 10 pounds each.
In addition to the technical sewing duties, the position includes learning relevant industry standards like NFPA 1850 and maintaining accurate sewing logs to ensure quality and compliance. The Sewer Seamstress works with industrial sewing machines and must have a strong work ethic, flexibility to learn, and good judgment. The ability to communicate effectively in English and a willingness to support the team proactively are essential qualities. Preferred candidates may also bring bilingual skills, knowledge of various fabrics and materials used in PPE, and experience with pattern creation and industrial sewing machines.

Job Duties
- Perform repairs and alterations and add accessory items to personal protective ensemble elements
- Follow established patterns and specifications and create new ones as necessary
- Contribute to the production of finished goods such as letter patches hose straps shrouds gear bags
- Alter sizing on uniforms
- Sew utilizing all available industrial sewing machines
- Remove and install patches on uniforms
- Learn NFPA 1850 and other industry standards and maintain accurate sewing logs
- Assist with the check-in of new fabric materials hardware
