Job Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
At least two verifiable job references from reputable companies
Excellent attendance and work history
Ability to interact directly with patients and maintain high visibility
Must read, write, and speak English proficiently
Proof of legal work status
Ability to use telephones, digital scanning, and paging devices after training
Physical ability to lift 50 pounds and stand or walk extensively
Must meet or exceed customer service standards
Commitment to ongoing customer service training
Must be self-directed, flexible, and able to work as part of a team
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Openness to learning and instructing others

Job Qualifications

Personal qualities including self-direction, flexibility, teamwork, initiative, communication skills, willingness to instruct others, and openness to learning

Job Duties

Adhere to all patient care services standards
Maintain departmental policies, quality assurance programs, environmental and infection control standards
Perform housekeeping tasks demonstrating service orientation to employees, patients, visitors, and staff
Maintain sanitary environment using standardized cleaning methods per manual and training
Clean work cart and complete pantry sanitation
Stock storage areas with supplies and linen
Store supplies and equipment appropriately at shift end
Dispose of trash and clean waste receptacles
Complete cycle cleans including use of hand buffers
Identify and report minor repairs
Complete housekeeping request process including greeting patients, scheduling cleaning, stocking amenities, keeping appointments, resolving concerns, and thanking guests
Replenish supplies such as soap, sanitizer, and paper towels
Operate floor cleaning machines
Maintain patient confidentiality following HIPAA
Participate in educational programs and workshops
Assist in evacuation during emergencies
Support nursing in making extra beds during community disasters
Communicate patient concerns to nursing staff
Perform other duties as assigned
