The Porter/Make Ready is responsible for cleaning and preparing units for new occupants, which includes sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, polishing floors, cleaning carpets, upholstered furniture, woodwork, washing windows, doors, and windowsills. The role also involves emptying wastebaskets, replenishing restroom supplies, replacing light bulbs as necessary, and performing any make-ready duties assigned by the immediate supervisor. This is a vital role that demands attention to detail, reliability, and the capability to work both independently and as part of a team. The Porter/Make Ready is frequently exposed to various physical demands such as standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Work conditions include exposure to outside weather, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and moderate noise levels. The ability to work weekends, overtime, and be on call after hours is required. While no specific educational or prior experience requirements are necessary, this position requires a valid state driver's license, the ability to understand and follow safety and cleaning procedures, and effective communication skills with residents and coworkers. This role does not include supervisory responsibilities, but it is crucial to the upkeep and operational success of the property management company, ensuring the highest levels of resident satisfaction and property maintenance standards.
