We are currently seeking a full-time Porter/Groundskeeper to join our team in Charleston, SC. This role provides a competitive hourly wage starting from $18 to $20 depending on experience. As a Porter/Groundskeeper, you will be an essential part of maintaining cleanliness, safety, and aesthetic appeal across our property. Your work will directly impact residents' satisfaction by preparing apartments, maintaining shared spaces, and assisting with minor maintenance tasks. This position requires dedication, team collaboration, reliability, and attention to detail. You will help transform routine spaces into welcoming environments where residents are proud to call home.

Your typical duties will include preparing apartments thoroughly for new residents, ensuring that community areas such as gyms, clubhouses, and lounges remain spotless and comfortable. You will be responsible for operating cleaning equipment and maintaining inventory of supplies. Responding to repair needs and performing light maintenance tasks will also be part of your daily responsibilities, helping to keep properties in excellent condition. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in their efforts, and thrives in a supportive, respectful team atmosphere.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 18+ years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Reliable and self-motivated
  • Ability to work weekends and on-call shifts
  • Willingness to travel between properties
  • Good communication skills
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year of housekeeping or custodial experience preferred
  • Experience with carpet and upholstery cleaning is a plus
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and pursue certification for pay increase

Job Duties

  • Preparing apartments for new residents with care and attention
  • Keeping community areas like clubhouses, gyms, and lounges sparkling and welcoming
  • Handling light maintenance tasks including painting, filter changes, and replacing light bulbs
  • Operating cleaning equipment and maintaining supplies
  • Reporting and helping address minor repair needs
  • Traveling between local properties as needed
  • Working a flexible schedule including weekends and on-call rotation
