The role of Valet Parking/Door Attendant (On Call) at DoubleTree by Hilton Alana - Waikiki Beach offers dynamic opportunities to be part of this esteemed hospitality brand and directly contribute to the guest experience. The Valet/Door Attendant is responsible for the prompt and safe transportation of guest vehicles to and from the parking garage, alongside providing assistance with luggage and escorting guests to their accommodations in a friendly and professional manner.

This is a union role with varied shifts that may include mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays, all requiring flexible availability. Candidates should expect to work shifts based on business needs and seniority. The starting pay is $14.47 per hour, with experienced candidates (6 months or more in a related role) eligible to start at $18.08 per hour. Job Requirements

  • Valid driver's license
  • Good driver’s abstract
  • Ability to operate manual and automatic vehicles
  • Ability to provide flexible scheduling including weekdays, weeknights, overnights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to lift, carry or transport luggage up to 75 lbs
  • Open availability required including holidays and weekends
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English
  • Must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance according to uniform guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior experience in valet parking or related role preferred
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift luggage weighing up to 75 lbs
  • Customer service experience a plus
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Familiarity with local area and attractions beneficial

Job Duties

  • Operates vehicle using safe driving practices to ensure safe delivery of vehicle to and from the parking garage
  • Ability to operate vehicles with automatic and standard transmissions
  • Tickets vehicle, writing guest name, room number, car license, make/model, amount of charge and length of stay on ticket
  • Greets and thanks guests in proper English, using a clear, pleasant voice
  • Responds to inquiries with accurate information regarding directions to local attractions, car rentals, meeting rooms, etc.
  • Assists guests with taxi services, wheelchair requests, parking options
  • Promptly answers valet phone using positive and clear English communication
  • Verbally arranges and confirms parking valet requests from guests and makes appropriate arrangements for bell desk services
  • Opening car doors and unloading/loading of luggage to ensure the smooth flow of traffic in the valet area
  • Assists guests with check-in procedures
  • Ability to lift, carry, or otherwise transport luggage weighing a maximum of 75 lbs
  • Retrieves guest items from cars, busses, vans and carts
  • Escorts customers to accommodations, visually inspects room and telephone and reports deficiencies
  • Organizes and stores luggage as necessary in a designated area
  • Greets customers immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome
  • Remains calm and attentive, especially during heavy hotel activity and emergencies
