Job Description

Gerber Collision & Glass is a renowned leader in the collision repair industry with a rich history spanning over 80 years. As part of The Boyd Group and its affiliated companies, Gerber Collision & Glass is committed to providing exceptional service to its customers while fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment. The company takes pride in its hands-on approach to recruitment, ensuring every hiring decision is made by real people who carefully review each application without the use of artificial intelligence or automated screening tools. This dedication to personal attention extends beyond customer service and is deeply embedded in the company's culture and values. Gerber Collision & Glass operates numerous service centers dedicated to quality vehicle repairs and collision services. They specialize in comprehensive collision repair solutions that restore vehicles to their pre-accident condition, with a focus on customer satisfaction, safety, and timely delivery. The company supports diversity and encourages qualified individuals, including those with disabilities and protected veterans, to apply and thrive within their dynamic workforce.

The role of the Porter at Gerber Collision & Glass is essential to supporting the quality repairs and customer experience that define the company’s reputation. The Porter primarily focuses on maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of both customer vehicles and the shop environment. This role involves pre-washing vehicles before repairs begin, as well as thoroughly cleaning the interiors and exteriors of vehicles once repairs are completed to ensure customers receive their vehicles in pristine condition. Additionally, the Porter maintains daily housekeeping in the office and production areas, involving tasks such as emptying garbage cans, sweeping floors, dusting countertops, and organizing tools and equipment to keep the shop safe and efficient.

Another key responsibility is the transportation of customer vehicles to and from sublet locations for additional repairs, adding an important logistical element to the role. The ability to work safely around moving mechanical parts while maintaining an orderly work environment is critical. This position encourages teamwork, responsibility, and excellent customer service skills, all of which contribute to upholding the company’s high standards. Gerber Collision & Glass offers competitive benefits to support its employees, including paid parental leave, several paid holidays, comprehensive insurance coverage effective from day one, and a robust retirement plan with company matching. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, take pride in vehicle care, and want to be part of a company committed to quality and community values.
