Job Description

TravelCenters of America (TA) has been a cornerstone of the trucking and travel industry for over 50 years, serving millions of professional truck drivers and motorists nationwide. With a strong legacy and a commitment to exceptional service, TA operates an extensive network of travel centers across the United States. These travel centers provide a comprehensive and convenient one-stop shopping experience, offering a wide range of services and products including fuel, food, truck maintenance, electronics, groceries, clothing, and gifts. TA is passionately focused on innovation, including the implementation of cutting-edge technology and pioneering initiatives in alternative energy and sustainability. Headquartered in Westlake, Ohio, TA values every team member as a vital stakeholder in the company’s ongoing success and growth. The organization fosters an inclusive, dynamic work culture where individual ideas and contributions are encouraged, driving both personal and professional development.

The Customer Service Attendant plays a crucial role within the TA store team, ensuring that facilities are maintained in a clean, sanitary, and safe condition to provide an inviting environment for guests. This position is essential to maintaining the high standards TA sets for its travel centers, ensuring that every traveler who visits leaves feeling satisfied and well served. The role requires an individual who thrives in a customer-oriented setting and who takes pride in cleanliness and facility upkeep. Responsibilities include cleaning all designated areas of the facility, monitoring safety and security practices, wearing appropriate protective equipment, and using cleaning supplies correctly. Flexibility in working hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays, is expected to meet the needs of a 24/7 operation. This position offers a supportive work environment focused on respect, teamwork, and excellent service, making it an excellent opportunity for candidates seeking to grow within a reputable company.

TA offers a competitive hourly wage structured around experience and job responsibilities, alongside a robust range of employee benefits. Team members have access to medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off including vacation and holidays, tuition reimbursement programs, and exclusive discounts on meals, technology, travel, food, and fuel. This array of benefits reflects TA’s commitment to supporting its employees’ health, financial security, and continuous learning. The company also provides opportunities for advancement within its growing network, making this a promising career path for motivated individuals. The physical demands of the Customer Service Attendant role are well-defined, requiring occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds and physical activities such as standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and climbing. The work environment may involve exposure to noise, outdoor weather conditions, and various typical cleaning substances and equipment, necessitating strict adherence to safety protocols to ensure well-being on the job.

TravelCenters of America prides itself on being an equal opportunity employer, embracing diversity in all its forms. The company’s commitment is to create a welcoming workplace for all, regardless of race, color, religion, gender, age, disability, or veteran status, among other categories protected by law. TA encourages all interested candidates to join their dedicated team and contribute to a mission that keeps America’s truckers and travelers on the road, safe, satisfied, and ready for their journeys ahead.
