The role being offered is a part-time Porter position at The Quarters Lincoln, a distinctive student housing community that consists of 157 units and 590 beds, specifically designed with the needs and lifestyle of University of Nebraska-Lincoln students in mind. Working under the umbrella of Tailwind Group, the Porter plays an essential part in maintaining the community’s appeal and reputation by ensuring the overall appearance and cleanliness of the property remains at a high standard. This position involves a variable weekly schedule, not exceeding 29.5 hours, and requires availability for rotating night and weekend shifts based on the property’s operational needs.

The Porter’s responsibilities go beyond routine cleaning duties; they include providing exceptional customer service to residents, prospects, vendors, officials, and community members, which directly influences the community's reputation. The job encompasses a range of tasks such as managing trash and debris removal, cleaning common areas including the pool, spa, clubhouse, fitness room, restrooms, and model units, all while complying with manufacturer specifications and applicable codes. The role also demands active participation in annual unit turnover and move-in/move-out procedures as needed. The compensation for this position ranges from $16.00 to $18.50 per hour, reflecting current market data and factoring in candidate experience, skills, and education. Job Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to sit, lift, and bend for up to 8 hours with breaks in all environments
  • Availability for variable schedule, including rotating nights and weekends
  • Strong communication and customer service skills

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate excellent customer service during each encounter with residents, prospects, vendors, officials, and community members
  • Remove trash and debris from the common areas daily, paying close attention to ensure these areas remain neat and trash free at all times
  • Sweep and remove debris from the curbs, parking areas, walkways, and stairways
  • Clean the pool and spa in accordance with manufacturer specifications and code compliance
  • Clean pool deck, restrooms, clubhouse, fitness room, and model units daily
  • Perform trash-out duties at vacated units daily if needed, including the removal of all abandoned furniture, trash, and other items
  • Assist with annual unit turnover and help execute move-in/move-out procedures
