Job Requirements

  • must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • must be able to stand for long periods
  • must be physically fit to perform duties including lifting heavy equipment
  • must have reliable transportation to work
  • must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • must comply with all health and safety regulations
  • must pass background check and drug screening

Job Qualifications

  • able to communicate in English, both in written and oral form
  • previous experience in kitchen stewarding or physically demanding profession preferred but not required
  • previous experience as stove cleaner in high volume establishment preferred but not required
  • ability to work consistently with industrial strength chemicals and within a team environment
  • ability to multi-task and work in fast paced and stressful environments with prolonged walking and standing
  • ability to lift up to 50 lbs at a time and push/pull up to 400 lbs at a time
  • ability to handle heavy machinery such as pallet jacks, tuggers, fork lifts
  • required to use personal protection equipment
  • ability to obtain and maintain any licensing or active work cards required
  • must be at least 18 years of age

Job Duties

  • clean all cooking devices such as stoves, grills, ovens, broilers, burner tops, steamer ovens, kettle-braisers, hood panels, deep fryers, dishwasher machines, stainless steel counters, drains
  • wash, clean, and polish equipment to ensure it is ready for use
  • sort and clean dishes, silverware, glasses, utensils, and assorted items as well as wash pots and pans
  • maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of work area and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards
  • perform bio-hazard cleanup
  • be prompt, present, and prepared for all scheduled shifts
  • adhere to all company and departmental standards
  • perform all duties associated with porter and kitchen worker positions
