Job Description
Culver's is a beloved family-owned restaurant chain best known for its signature ButterBurgers and rich, creamy Fresh Frozen Custard. Founded in 1984 by Craig and Lea Culver along with Craig's parents George and Ruth in Sauk City, Wisconsin, Culver's has expanded well beyond its hometown while maintaining a strong focus on people and hospitality. The company's dedication to creating a welcoming atmosphere and delivering a unique dining experience is what sets it apart in the competitive restaurant industry. With its commitment to quality ingredients, excellent customer service, and community values, Culver's has become a destination for guests seeking delicious food served with a genuine smile. The Culver's way is about more than just food; it’s about building meaningful connections with guests and team members alike.
We are currently seeking a highly motivated, self-starting Porter (Handyman/Maintenance Technician) to join our team either full-time or part-time. The Porter position is vital to keeping our restaurant operating smoothly and ensuring an excellent experience for both our guests and crew. Each day, porters open the doors and prepare the restaurant for service, maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of all equipment and facilities. This role involves a mix of maintenance tasks along with inventory management, including stocking the kitchen with fresh ingredients that meet our high-quality standards. A successful Porter will demonstrate excellent work ethic, dependability, and problem-solving skills to handle routine tasks independently while contributing to the overall team environment.
At Culver's, we offer flexible schedules designed to accommodate your personal commitments, whether they involve family, school, or other activities. We value work-life balance, highlighted by our closure on major holidays like Easter, Christmas, and Thanksgiving so you can enjoy time with your loved ones. Working closely with restaurant owners, as part of our family-operated business, you'll receive hands-on training and development opportunities that can help build your skills and future career prospects. Additionally, you’ll enjoy employee meal discounts, including discounts on our famous ButterBurgers, whether working or visiting on your days off. We provide uniforms at no cost and maintain a grooming standard to ensure a professional appearance.
This role requires physical stamina, including being on your feet most of the day and lifting weights ranging from 10 to 50 pounds. You will be entrusted with keeping the building exterior and grounds in excellent condition through landscaping and snow removal. Familiarity with restaurant equipment operation is important as you will perform scheduled maintenance tasks to keep everything running safely and efficiently. Our Porters play a key part in inventory control by properly rotating stock in coolers and storage areas with attention to shelf life and code dates.
If you thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and are eager to contribute to a company that truly values its people, consider joining the True Blue Crew at Culver's. We are committed to working hard for you as you work hard for us, creating a supportive and rewarding workplace where you can grow both personally and professionally. Our pay range for this position is $16 to $18 per hour, reflecting the important role you’ll play in our operation.
