This immediate full-time Porter opportunity is based at the T. Rowe Price HQ in Baltimore, Maryland. This role is scheduled Monday through Friday with variable hours to be detailed during the interview process. The position offers an hourly pay range from $16.00 to $20.00, reflecting the importance of the role in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient front-of-house environment. The Porter is a critical team member responsible for ensuring that the dining and service areas are kept immaculate and organized to support seamless foodservice operations.

The primary responsibilities of the Porter include maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the front of the house, including tables, counters, floors, windows, and beverage stations. This involves bussing and clearing tables promptly during peak service times and completing thorough cleaning before and after service hours to ensure a hygienic environment. The Porter also safely transports dishes and utensils from dining areas to the kitchen, employing trays, bus tubs, or carts to maintain safety standards.

Dishwashing is another vital function of the Porter role, either by hand or using dishwashing machines, with an emphasis on meticulous sanitation and cleanliness to meet relevant health and safety regulations. The Porter assists in keeping cooking stations and equipment clean to expedite food preparation and service flow, while also ensuring display equipment remains free of debris and complies with all safety standards.

The role extends to assisting with receiving and handling heavy deliveries, moving them safely to storage areas while adhering to proper lifting techniques to prevent injury. The Porter is expected to follow all company safety protocols, including wearing medium-weight cut gloves when handling knives and sharp utensils, appropriate gloves when handling hot equipment, and slip-resistant footwear to prevent workplace accidents.

Job Duties

  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of front of house including tables, counters, floors, windows, and beverage station
  • Ensures tables are bussed, cleared and cleaned and floors are cleared and swept during peak service times and prepped prior to service
  • Follows safety procedures when transporting dishes and utensils using trays, bus tubs or carts
  • Washes dishes, glasses and pots and cleans cooking stations and equipment to maintain sanitation standards
  • Scrapes and rinses food from dishes and washes them by hand or uses dishwashing machine ensuring cleanliness and sanitation
  • Keeps display equipment clean and in compliance with safety and sanitation standards
  • Helps receive heavy deliveries and transports them to storage areas following safe lifting standards
