The Porter role at Towne Park is a vital position that combines hospitality with general maintenance responsibilities. This individual serves as the primary ambassador of Towne Park within the parking garage environment by ensuring cleanliness, safety, and customer satisfaction. The porter’s duties include routine cleaning tasks like sweeping, mopping, power washing, and waste disposal to maintain an inviting garage environment. They also assist guests by providing directions, answering questions, and managing common customer service issues such as lockouts, flat tires, or lost vehicles. A key aspect of this position is the maintenance of garage facility equipment and signage, ensuring all areas are kept orderly and operational. The porter operates with a focus on guest confidentiality and security in line with HIPAA guidelines, maintaining the privacy and safety of patrons’ information. This job demands physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while performing duties that require lifting, standing, walking, and occasional strenuous physical activity. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • at least 18 years of age
  • pass a criminal background check
  • pass a drug screen
  • one to three months related experience or equivalent
  • ability to read and write English
  • customer service experience preferred
  • able to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally
  • able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • must be at least 18 years of age and able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
  • one to three months related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • customer service experience preferred
  • knowledge of basic general cleaning
  • must be able to read and write standard English language
  • able to comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
  • able to write simple correspondence
  • able to effectively present information to guests and employees
  • ability to understand 24 hour and military time systems
  • ability to understand rates applicable to time passed

Job Duties

  • cleanliness check each shift of all guest entrances and elevator landings in the entire garage including emptying ash urns and trash receptacles
  • use mop or power washer to remove stains from liquid spills and wipe signage in common areas including pay on foot stations
  • maintain general cleaning of garage debris around and between vehicles using mobile garbage can, broom and dustpan
  • wipe signage and way finding materials at all vehicular entrances and exits including gates, gate arms and card reading equipment
  • empty all returned guest key receptacles at garage exits and return to Towne Park MOD
  • assist guests with directions and inquiries and provide information about surrounding area
  • protect guest confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements
