The role of a Housekeeping Attendant is critical in upholding the hotel’s image by guaranteeing the highest level of cleanliness and safety in all designated areas. This includes sanitizing and maintaining public spaces like lobbies and hallways, as well as back of house locations. The Housekeeping Attendant will utilize specialized floor cleaning and polishing equipment, carpet shampoo machines, and various other cleaning tools to ensure a pristine environment. In addition to physical cleaning tasks, this role involves a significant amount of guest interaction. The Attendant must apply excellent guest relations skills, demonstrating a positive attitude, teamwork, and responsiveness to guest needs and requests. Adherence to OSHA regulations and internal housekeeping policies is mandatory to ensure safety and compliance.

The position also demands the ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as lifting moderately heavy objects and pushing carts weighing up to 150 pounds. Attention to detail is paramount, as is a commitment to teamwork and maintaining a professional appearance. Attendants are expected to promptly report any maintenance issues and participate actively in scheduled department meetings and training sessions. They play an integral role in supporting other team members, including assisting room attendants with tasks like restocking and cleaning supplies. Job Duties

  • Ensures the highest level of cleanliness and safety in all public and back of the house areas

  • cleans and sanitizes assigned public and back of the house areas
  • operates and maintains cleaning equipment including vacuums, extractors, burnishing/buffing machines, brooms, wet-vacuums, and upholstery cleaners
  • maintains highest levels of cleanliness on various surfaces including carpets, tile, cement, marble, and glass
  • transfers and stocks supplies from Receiving
  • ensures storeroom neatness and security
  • assists in cleaning and restocking Room Attendant mobile transports
  • cleans chandeliers, ashtrays, ash urns, elevator doors, and tracks
  • vacuums, sweeps, and mops hallways
  • cleans interior windows, door jams, fire boxes, stairwells, and handrails
  • replaces burned out light bulbs
  • moves furniture as required
  • cleans spots on walls and carpets
  • assists attendants by emptying trash
  • cleans offices, Reception Desk and back office areas
  • attends department meetings and completes cleaning tasks timely
  • promotes and applies teamwork skills
  • complies with safety regulations and hotel policies
  • executes emergency procedures
  • recycles when possible
  • complies with uniform and grooming standards
  • participates in training sessions and stays current with hotel information and procedures.
