Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- must have a high school diploma or GED or significant related experience
- must have at least 6 months previous institutional housekeeping and kitchen cleaning experience
- must demonstrate ability to follow procedures and instructions with high accuracy
- must be able to read, write, and speak English
- must demonstrate dependability and excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- must be honest, warm, cheerful, caring, and punctual
- must adapt to changing organizational needs and work flexible hours

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Duties related to the sanitary maintenance of food service areas
- dusts/mops storeroom, kitchens, and cooler floors daily, including under/behind stationary equipment
- spot cleans walls/ceilings/floor drains/doors daily
- loads/unloads dish machine in main kitchen and Taylor's for pots/pans and other items
- deep cleans food service equipment according to established schedule, including ovens/steamers/grills/broilers/food warmers, worktables, mobile food carts, refrigerated storage units, and other assigned equipment
- runs dish machine to clean all production equipment including pots, pans, utensils, baking sheets
- keeps storage shelves and storerooms clean, organized, and properly stocked with items rotated after deliveries
- reads grocery invoices and verifies receipt of items, notifies supervisor of shortages or damaged goods
- promptly puts stock away upon arrival
- handles removal of garbage and trash from kitchen to dumpster or compactor area, flattening boxes prior to disposal
- cleans and hoses out/scrubs interior and exterior of garbage cans and relines them
- cleans handwashing sinks, restocks hand-washing liquid, paper towels, and other supplies as needed
- de-limes dish machines in Taylor's and LL kitchen per bi-weekly schedule
- assures all resident/client rights are maintained and reports any violations immediately according to Saint John's policy
- maintains confidentiality of all department and organizational information
- follows established lines of communication and authority
- works tactfully and cooperatively with residents, clients, families, visitors, and staff throughout the organization
- attends in-services, meetings, and seminars as required, changes schedule or works overtime to meet resident needs
