Job Description
BH is a people-first multifamily owner and operator that has grown remarkably since its founding in 1993 from a small startup into one of the nation’s largest commercial real estate companies. With a deep commitment to doing business the right way, BH has built a reputation for investing in its team and fostering a culture where employees feel valued and empowered. Currently managing over 100,000 units and employing more than 2,800 people, BH takes pride in owning its processes in-house to maintain high standards of excellence. The company has received recognition and praise from Fortune Magazine, notably being named among the "Best Workplace for Women," "Best Workplace for Millennials," and "Best Workplaces for Diversity." BH’s foundation is powered by innovation and a positive, can-do attitude that embraces growth and continuous improvement. The company’s mission is to construct a smarter way to live, invest, manage, and grow within the multifamily industry.
Known for its welcoming and collaborative culture, BH’s team comprises go-getters who think ambitiously, pay attention to detail, and maintain a healthy balance between dedication to work and a sense of humility. BH is proud of its heritage and history of success while remaining forward-looking and ready to face new challenges with creativity and resilience. The company encourages employees to take ownership, learn from mistakes, and turn challenges into opportunities. BH’s supportive atmosphere ensures that team members are not just employees but part of a passionate community that strives to set the standard in the multifamily industry. Joining BH means becoming part of a vibrant organization where your contributions matter and your growth is supported.
As a Porter, you will play a vital role in maintaining the aesthetic appeal and cleanliness of BH residential properties, ensuring a positive living experience for residents and a welcoming environment for visitors. Reporting to the Community Manager, this entry-level, full-time position is focused on maintaining the exterior grounds, interior common areas, and overall property cleanliness. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks such as trash removal, landscaping upkeep, general maintenance support, and assisting with the upkeep of amenities like pools and parking areas. The Porter acts as an essential frontline team member who represents BH’s commitment to exceptional customer service with professionalism and courtesy.
Physically active and hands-on, this position requires an individual who is comfortable with lifting, standing, walking, bending, and potentially working outdoors in varying weather conditions. You will use basic maintenance tools and equipment to ensure that BH properties remain safe, attractive, and well-organized. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in property management and maintenance in a dynamic and supportive company environment. The work schedule is primarily Monday through Friday, with some possibility of overtime or extended hours to meet business demands. BH recruits a diverse workforce and champions inclusivity and equal opportunity. Compensation varies by location, relevant skills, and experience, reflecting BH’s commitment to fair employment practices across multiple U.S. markets.
