Job Description

BH is a renowned multifamily owner and operator that has evolved from a modest startup into one of the largest commercial real estate companies in the United States. Founded in 1993, BH is recognized for its unwavering commitment to integrity and doing business the right way. The company manages more than 100,000 residential units nationwide and employs over 2,800 dedicated professionals. BH prides itself on owning its processes internally and fostering a workplace culture celebrated by Fortune Magazine for its excellence in diversity, including accolades such as "Best Workplace for Women," "Best Workplace for Millennials," and "Best Workplaces for Diversity." Driven by innovation and a positive, can-do attitude, BH continually refines its operations and strives to craft smarter solutions for living, investing, managing, and growing in the multifamily housing industry.

As a company, BH emphasizes a people-first approach, aiming to create a supportive and engaging work environment where every team member can thrive. The organization values attention to detail, accountability, and resilience, making it an attractive employer for those who seek a substantive and meaningful career in property management. Joining BH means becoming part of a passionate community of professionals who think big, uphold high standards, and foster a culture of respect and collaboration.

The Porter position at BH plays an essential role in maintaining the high standards and quality of the communities BH manages. Reporting directly to the Community Manager, this full-time, onsite role demands dedication to preserving the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of both exterior and interior common areas of residential properties. The role entails an array of responsibilities that ensure living spaces remain welcoming and well-maintained, reflecting BH's commitment to customer service and quality.

The Porter's mission centers on the upkeep of exterior grounds, including landscaping, parking lots, sidewalks, driveways, gutters, and trash disposal areas such as trash chutes and compactors. Additionally, the Porter takes care of interior common areas, ensuring these spaces remain clean and orderly. This position requires a strong customer service ethos, as the Porter represents BH in all interactions with residents and visitors. The role involves assisting with move-out trash removal, maintaining pool areas, posting community notices, and keeping work areas and maintenance shops organized.

Physical stamina and a willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions are necessary for success. The role also demands proficiency with basic maintenance tools and equipment, along with familiarity with building maintenance to support efficient operations. BH encourages teamwork, accountability, and proactive problem-solving, with the Porter being a vital part of this collaborative effort. The typical work schedule runs Monday through Friday, with some overtime and on-call responsibilities as needed to meet business demands.

BH values inclusivity and diversity, ensuring a workplace environment where all voices are heard and respected. Compensation at BH is competitive and reflects geographic market standards, with considerations for the candidate's knowledge, skills, and experience.
