As a Porter at Marcola Apartment Homes, you will be an essential member of the team entrusted with ensuring that common areas—from hallways and leasing offices to fitness centers and laundry rooms—are kept impeccably clean and well-maintained. Your day-to-day duties will involve cleaning nightly rental units, removing litter from the grounds, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and performing other tasks such as pressure washing and window washing. The role demands a high standard of attention to detail and a commitment to upholding the aesthetic appeal and safety of the community.

Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the maintenance team to assist with unit turnovers and general upkeep, contributing directly to the smooth operation of property management activities. The position also includes responsibilities such as documenting performed work using Yardi property management software and operating a golf cart safely to access various areas of the property. Occasional travel to other Stratum properties and attending required training sessions will be part of your job, along with availability for after-hours emergency response if needed.

This is a full-time position with a schedule set from Sunday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, including a 60-minute unpaid lunch break. The pay range is competitive, between $18.00 and $22.00 per hour, with additional eligibility for monthly incentive bonuses based on leasing performance, renewals, and resident engagement. The position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime pay, further demonstrating the company’s compliance with labor standards. Additionally, employees receive a $50 monthly cell phone stipend or $600 annually.

  • Maintain cleanliness of common areas including hallways restrooms leasing office clubhouse laundry rooms and fitness center
  • Clean nightly rental units
  • Remove litter and debris from grounds parking lots and pathways daily
  • Sweep mop vacuum wash windows pressure wash surfaces and clean light fixtures
  • Assist with janitorial tasks trash disposal and maintaining curb appeal
  • Document work performed in Yardi
  • support maintenance team with unit turnovers and light upkeep as needed
  • Operate a golf cart safely to access various parts of the property
  • Be available for after-hours emergency response as needed
  • Travel to other properties and attend required trainings as business needs dictate
