Job Description
Core Spaces (Core) is a unique real estate investment manager that prides itself on being more than just a company that builds properties; it is fundamentally a people company. Since its founding in 2010, Core has established a strong reputation for its dedication to building meaningful relationships alongside its commitment to delivering innovative residential communities. Core's portfolio includes an extensive range of properties, primarily focused on student housing and build-to-rent (BTR) sectors, featuring world-class amenities, progressive design, and hospitality-driven service. This unique approach is underpinned by six cultural values that form the cornerstone of its operations: PUSH (Invent better places to live), GRIT (We got this), LIFT (Help each other win), SHINE (Bring your full self), UPHOLD (Never break trust), and GROW (Always get better). These values guide the company every day, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous growth.
Core currently manages over 74,440 beds in student housing and has a pipeline of more than 53,860 beds under development. In the BTR division, Core is actively developing over 3,000 homes across high-growth metropolitan areas nationwide. The company’s commitment to enhancing the resident experience through cutting-edge design and superior service has positioned it as a leader in the real estate sector. Core Spaces offers employees a dynamic work environment where their contributions are valued, supported by an inclusive culture, competitive pay, and comprehensive benefits.
The Porter position at Core Spaces is integral to maintaining the grounds and overall cleanliness of Core’s residential communities. This role involves performing groundskeeping duties on site, ensuring that properties are well-kept, clean, and visually appealing to residents and visitors alike. The position requires attention to detail, adherence to brand and company standards, and a commitment to maintaining the overall curb appeal and functionality of the community spaces.
The ideal Porter is responsible for a variety of tasks including trash removal, preparing trash for pickup, sweeping, mopping, landscaping maintenance, and cleaning swimming pools as needed. They ensure that furniture arrangements and product presentations meet strict guidelines. Porters play a key role in creating a welcoming, clean, and presentable environment by completing daily checklists and ensuring all amenity areas are spotless throughout the day. This job requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
This role demands flexibility as it requires working full shifts on-site, with availability for evenings, weekends, and overtime when necessary. The Porter also supports move-outs, turnover, and move-ins that may extend beyond regular working hours. Working closely with the Maintenance Supervisor, the Porter helps uphold the high standards of property upkeep expected at Core Spaces. This position is a vital part of the team ensuring that residents enjoy a pristine living environment.
Core Spaces offers a range of meaningful benefits to employees, including a culture of belonging, competitive pay, generous paid time off (PTO), paid holidays including birthday leave, paid parental leave, paid volunteer time off, and robust health insurance options that start within 30 days of employment. Employees also receive a yearly subscription to a meditation app for personal wellness, access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and company retirement options including 401(k) with matching and Roth accounts. Core is committed to creating an equitable and inclusive workplace where every team member’s voice and perspective are valued, and diversity is celebrated.
