Job Description

The Summit at Point Loma is currently seeking a dedicated Porter to join their team on a full-time basis with a competitive salary range of $20 to $22 per hour. This position offers a consistent schedule from Tuesday through Saturday, 8 am to 5 pm, providing an excellent work-life balance for candidates. The role is vital in maintaining the pristine condition and curb appeal of the property, ensuring that all residents and visitors enjoy a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

The Porter’s responsibilities extend across multiple facets of daily property upkeep. Key functions include removing trash and debris systematically to maintain cleanliness, assisting in the preparation of market-ready units to ensure timely turnover, and pressure washing exterior surfaces such as buildings and sidewalks to enhance visual appeal. The role also involves responding to various property emergencies and inclement weather challenges, including snow removal, fire emergencies, and flood management. Porters play an essential part in supporting maintenance operations by identifying and reporting any life safety issues or property concerns promptly.

  • Must maintain professional appearance and comply with prescribed uniform policy
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and current auto insurance
  • Must comply with all safety requirements
  • Required to complete and successfully pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within the first 30 days of employment
  • Ability to shovel snow, apply ice melt and operate a commercial snow blower
  • Passionate for meticulous curb appeal

Job Duties

  • Remove trash and other debris from office areas and property perimeter on a daily basis
  • Assist in the preparation of market ready units
  • Pressure wash exterior buildings, sidewalks, etc
  • Assist with property emergencies, such as snow removal and/or other inclement weather emergencies, fires, and floods
  • Clean available apartments and/or model homes and common areas of the community, as directed
  • Address property maintenance concerns related to inclement weather conditions
  • Promote customer satisfaction by maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and curb appeal, and interact courteously and professionally with current and potential residents always
