Job Description
The employer is an established automotive dealership dedicated to providing high-quality services and products related to vehicles. This dealership maintains a strong reputation within the community for offering an extensive selection of new and used vehicles alongside comprehensive service and body shop facilities. Their commitment to outstanding customer service and procedural excellence positions them as a trusted and dependable business within the automotive retail space. The dealership operates with an emphasis on safety, organization, and customer satisfaction, ensuring that every area of the property is well-kept and that vehicles are presented in optimal condition for potential buyers and customers utilizing the service departments.
The role of Lot Attendant/Porter is an essential position within this dealership, offering critical support to various departments including new and used vehicle sales, service, and body shop operations. Reporting directly to the Lot Manager, the Lot Attendant/Porter is responsible for maintaining the appearance and organization of the dealership grounds, specifically focusing on the new and used vehicle lots as well as the service and customer drive-through areas. This role requires attention to detail, cleanliness, and physical readiness as the attendant ensures all vehicles are clean, orderly, and properly displayed.
Key duties of this role include moving vehicles as directed by management, cleaning both the interiors and exteriors of cars (including trunks and glove compartments), and maintaining overall lot appearance and safety by regularly policing dealership grounds. Additionally, the Lot Attendant/Porter must adhere to company policies including the use of approved uniforms and adherence to OSHA right-to-know training standards. The role also involves using good judgment and mechanical skill to ensure vehicles are handled properly and the lots are safe and welcoming for customers and staff.
Despite requiring no previous work experience, this position demands a high school diploma or equivalent, a current valid driver's license, and the ability to use personal computer applications. The Lot Attendant/Porter must be capable of lifting up to 40 pounds and working in noisy environments while being exposed to various materials commonly found in automotive repair settings such as battery acid and chemical cleaning agents. This practical role is ideal for individuals looking to launch a career in the automotive industry within a supportive and structured environment, offering opportunities for training and skill development under direct supervision. By joining this dealership as a Lot Attendant/Porter, individuals contribute significantly to the dealership's overall success and provide vital support that enhances both customer experience and operational efficiency.
