This full-time position within Life EMS Ambulance involves the safe transportation of vehicles, equipment, parts, and supplies between Life EMS locations, customers, and vendors. The role is a vital component of the company's fleet readiness operations, contributing to the seamless running of daily activities and ultimately supporting the delivery of patient care services. Employees in this role work under the direction of the Director of Fleet Readiness and are expected to maintain a customer-focused attitude, ensuring high levels of satisfaction through timely and careful transportation services. The role requires a responsible and safety-conscious individual who takes pride in handling a variety of tasks related to vehicle and equipment management. Duties include transporting vehicles among various Life EMS locations and external entities, delivering mail and equipment, loading and unloading vehicles, stocking supplies in the garage, and keeping the maintenance area and vehicles clean and organized. The job also involves occasional physical activities such as lifting up to 25 pounds, climbing stairs, and operating various hand tools. Life EMS provides training and ongoing education opportunities, including free continuing education classes and scholarships for EMT and Paramedic schooling, reflecting its dedication to employee advancement.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must have a valid Michigan chauffeur's license
  • Must pass all Life EMS pre-employment requirements as outlined on the Conditional Offer of Employment
  • Must have a driving record that meets Life EMS standard and pass Life EMS driving test
  • Must be interviewed by Life EMS designee

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must have a valid Michigan chauffeur's license
  • Must pass all Life EMS pre-employment requirements as outlined on the Conditional Offer of Employment
  • Must have a driving record that meets Life EMS standard and pass Life EMS driving test

Job Duties

  • Ensure daily customer happiness
  • Transport vehicles between Life EMS locations, customers, or vendors under the direction of the Director of Fleet Readiness
  • Deliver or pick up mail, equipment, uniforms, etc. to be transported between Life EMS locations, customers, or vendors
  • Load or unload equipment and parts from vehicles
  • Stock parts, supplies, and medical supplies in garage
  • Responsible for general clean up of maintenance area and garage
  • Wash and general clean-up of vehicles
  • Other projects and duties as directed by the Director of Fleet Readiness
